 httptunnel -v3.0.5

Published on 2005 - by Lars Brinkhoff, ©Lars Brinkhoff.

httptunnel creates a bidirectional virtual data connection tunnelled in HTTP requests. The HTTP requests can be sent via an HTTP proxy if so desired.

This can be useful for users behind restrictive firewalls. If WWW access is allowed through a HTTP proxy, it's possible to use httptunnel and, say, telnet or PPP to connect to a computer outside the firewall.

httptunnel is written and maintained by Lars Brinkhoff. See the file AUTHORS in the tarball for more information about contributors to this package.

 l2tpd -v0.68

Published on 2002 - by Jeff McAdams, ©Jeff McAdams.

A Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol VPN client/daemon for Linux and other POSIX-based OSs. Based off of L2TPd 0.61 from http://www.marko.net/l2tp

 Stunnel -v4.07

Published on 2005-01-02 - by Brian Hatch, ©Brian Hatch.

Stunnel is a program that allows you to encrypt arbitrary TCP connections inside SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) available on both Unix and Windows. Stunnel can allow you to secure non-SSL aware daemons and protocols (like POP, IMAP, LDAP, etc) by having Stunnel provide the encryption, requiring no changes to the daemon's code.

 svtun -v1.2

Published on 2003-06-21 - by silvio, ©silvio.

Vtun is a well-known tunneling package supporting most widely used protocols encapsulation in tcp or udp, featuring encryption and compression support. The current project's goal is to create a scalable support for delivering traffic captures from probes to the central server, so that traffic analysis, disk-logging and/or intrusion detection can be performed there.

 UDPTunnel -v1.1

Published on 2001-09-06 - by Jonathan Lennox, ©Jonathan Lennox.

UDPTunnel is a small program which can tunnel UDP packets bi-directionally over a TCP connection. Its primary purpose (and original motivation) is to allow multi-media conferences to traverse a firewall which allows only outgoing TCP connections.

 Zebedee -1.53

Published on 2005-09-06 - by Neil Winton, ©Neil Winton.

Zebedee is a simple program to establish an encrypted, compressed tunnel for TCP/IP or UDP data transfer between two systems. This allows traffic such as telnet, FTP and X to be protected from snooping as well as potentially gaining performance over low-bandwidth networks from compression.
